Spray foam in Alberta is priced per board foot (a square foot at one inch thick), so the total depends on area, thickness, foam type and access - not a flat per-square-foot sticker. This guide explains the drivers so you can read any quote.
What drives the number
- Foam type: closed-cell costs more per board foot and does more; open-cell stretches a budget.
- Thickness / target R: attic R-38 is ~6" closed-cell or ~11" open-cell.
- Access & prep: open new walls are cheapest; tight retrofits and masking add labour.
Application ranges (planning only)
Budget more per square foot for closed-cell in basements and metal buildings; less for open-cell interior work. Big pole barns and shops price differently again because of scale and building type.
The rule we won't break
We never publish a price as a quote. Estimate board feet, then get an exact quote on your space. See what drives cost.
