Barn Spray Foam Insulation

A livestock barn is a humidity machine - animals, bedding and water all add moisture to the air - and in Alberta that moisture condenses on any cold surface and drips back down. Spray foam controls that condensation and stabilizes barn temperature, while a good installer respects the ventilation a barn still needs.

The barn balance

  • Condensation control: closed-cell on the walls and roof deck stops warm, moist barn air from condensing on cold steel or wood - the cause of rot, rust and unhealthy damp.
  • Stable temperature: a sealed, insulated envelope holds heat from the animals and any supplemental heating, smoothing out the swings.
  • Ventilation, not sealing shut: a barn needs air exchange; foam manages the envelope so ventilation can be controlled rather than leaking everywhere.
