Individually they are trivial. Twenty of them along a wall is a row of small holes at exactly the height warm air collects. The way round it is not to avoid fixing things, it is to decide before the spray goes on where the load-bearing points will be and to put backing on the girts at those positions, so the fixings land on steel that was always going to be penetrated rather than being driven wherever a bracket happened to go.

Foam has to go onto a surface warm enough to take it, and a metal building that nobody heats routinely is not that surface for a large part of the year. On an occupied house the building is already warm and the question never arises. On an acreage shop that has been sitting at outside temperature since October it does, and the answer is heat brought in and run long enough to bring the steel itself up rather than just the air around it, which takes longer than people expect because the sheet has no capacity to store anything. That is real time and real propane and it belongs on the quote as its own line. It is also the single strongest argument for booking this work into a warmer month if the building can wait, because the same job costs less in September than it does in February.

The door goes up at the coldest moment of the day, every time

The way one of these actually gets used is that somebody arrives home in the dark, puts the overhead door up, drives in, and closes it behind them. That exchanges most of the air in the building for outside air at the coldest hour, and it happens at the start of every session rather than at some random point during it. A sealed insulated shell recovers from that within minutes because the surfaces around it are still warm. An uninsulated one starts from nothing again, which is why the building feels as though it never got anywhere.
